This Privacy Policy explains how Archie, Inc. ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use Better Draft ("the Service"). We take your privacy seriously, especially when it comes to your creative work.
Account information (email, username, password — stored as a bcrypt hash, never in plain text), creative content (screenplays, treatments, outlines, notes), and support communications.
Usage data (features used, credit consumption, session duration), device and browser information, and log data (IP address, access times). We use essential session cookies only — no advertising or tracking cookies.
Your screenplays, treatments, outlines, notes, character descriptions, writing samples, and all other creative work you upload or generate through the Service ("Creative Content") are processed solely to provide the Service to you.
We do not read, review, analyze, sell, license, or share your Creative Content.
We do not use your Creative Content to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models — ours or anyone else's.
Our AI provider processes your Creative Content in real-time to generate responses. Per our data processing agreement, they do not retain your Creative Content after processing and do not use it for model training.
Access to Creative Content by Better Draft employees or contractors is prohibited except in the following limited circumstances: (a) you explicitly share content with us for support or debugging; (b) we are compelled by valid legal process; (c) access is necessary to prevent imminent harm or investigate fraud.
Used to operate the Service, communicate about your account, track credit usage, monitor for abuse, and generate anonymized analytics to improve the product.
Data stored on US-based servers. Security measures include password hashing (bcrypt), encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), and secure session management.
Your content is retained while your account is active. You can export your work at any time before deletion.
Upon account deletion, all personal data and Creative Content is permanently removed from our active systems within 30 days. Database backups containing your data are overwritten within 90 days of deletion. We do not maintain copies, archives, or derivatives of your Creative Content after deletion.
You have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data at any time. Contact us at hello@betterdraft.io. Additional rights under GDPR and CCPA may apply depending on your location.
Better Draft is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
AI Language Processing: Your text inputs are processed by a third-party AI language model provider to generate real-time responses. Pursuant to our data processing agreement, this provider does not retain your content after processing and does not use your content for model training or development.
Voice Synthesis: Screenplay dialogue text is transmitted to a third-party voice synthesis provider solely for the purpose of generating Table Read audio. Only the dialogue text necessary for audio generation is transmitted.
Payment Processing: Payment information is processed by a third-party payment processor. We do not store credit card numbers or sensitive financial data on our servers.
All third-party providers are bound by data processing agreements that prohibit the use of your content for purposes other than providing the requested service.
We do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking third parties. Details regarding our providers' data handling practices are available upon request.
